The biggest stadium in Germany has gone cashless thanks to payment solution AG and the installation of their premier system justpay.

Borussia Dortmund’s iconic Signal Iduna Park, described as the most beautiful stadium in the world recently by the Times, will have a fully integrated cashless system for the beginning of the 2010/11 season.

justpay will make its debut at the Signal Iduna Park in the pre season friendly between Borussia Dortmund and English Premier League giants Manchester City on 4th of August.

Heinz-Peter Strömsdörfer, CSO&COO at payment solution AG, said; “The installation of justpay at the Signal Iduna Park is a landmark project.

“Securing the biggest stadium in Germany is a huge step towards our vision of creating a nationwide payment system for the leisure and entertainment sector.

“justpay is fast becoming a recognised brand throughout the stadiums and arenas in both Germany and Europe.

“An increase in sales volume due to quicker service and processes has also reduced customer queuing time and enhanced the stadium experience.  Our benchmark for any new installation is a 20% increase in turnover.”

The 80225 all seater Signal Iduna Park is home of six time Bundesliga winners,  Borussia Dortmund, and currently sells over 25000 litres of beer on match days.  Sales volumes throughout the stadium are expected to increase courtesy of the justpay system and the improved purchasing process.

Cashless payment has already received a resounding vote of confidence from Dortmund fans.  72% of supporters surveyed by local newspaper, Ruhr Nachrichten, can wait to experience the improved processes and enhanced stadium experience.

The justpay system is now fully functional in five Bundesliga stadiums and is currently the most modern payment system in the European market allowing fans to create a virtual profile and top up their card online before entering the stadium.

The German based company has now installed their innovative electronic payment solution in a number of European stadia including the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, Donbass Arena, Donetsk, Ukraine, AFG Arena, St. Gallen, Switzerland, Hoffenheim’s new Rhein-Neckar Arena, Nurburgring, RheinEnergieStadium, Cologne, Fritz-Walter-Stadium, Kaiserslautern and Commerzbank-Arena, Frankfurt.
